What To Expect As A New Patient

Best Braces Welcome

November 15, 2023 By The Best Braces

What To Expect As A New Patient

Your initial consultation is FREE and will take approximately 60-90 minutes. At this appointment, we will perform a preliminary exam, discuss treatment options, and help you make an informed decision. Please bring your completed new patient forms to the appointment or arrive 15 minutes early to complete them prior to your appointment time.

During your first visit, we will:

  • Introduce our team
  • Review your new patient forms.
  • Gather pertinent information, and take the necessary photographs and radiographs
  • Perform a clinical examination and go over your initial diagnosis
  • Present you with an optimal treatment plan and the estimated treatment time
  • Review the treatment fee and financial arrangements
  • Schedule your next appointment

After our initial exam, you will begin treatment. This is the first step on your journey to straight teeth!

After your first exam (which will take less than an hour) you can expect us to:

  • Install your appliances (braces, expanders, etc)
  • Talk to you about caring for your appliances
  • Schedule future appointments

Appointment Scheduling Details

Orthodontic appointments occur at regular intervals of eight to ten weeks apart for adjustments with each appointment lasting approximately 30 minutes. Our schedule is carefully planned so the doctor can give each patient focused attention. Typically, our longer, more time-intensive appointments are scheduled in the mid-morning or early afternoon. This allows us to offer more standard appointments in the late afternoon and early evening.

No matter what stage of treatment you’re in, we will be available to answer any questions you have about navigating through life with orthodontics.

Regular Appointments

Patients are seen by appointment only. For your convenience we offer flexible hours. With our great, modern new technology you only need to come in roughly every two months for adjustments that will keep your smile on track; these are important to the progress of your treatment, so please do your best to keep your scheduled appointments. Appointments last 20-40 minutes. We try to minimize inconvenience to give you as many appointments outside of work or school as possible with advanced hours and crafted scheduling.

To make the most of your appointment time, we suggest the following scheduling tips:

  • Schedule your next appointment before you leave the office
  • Be sure to bring your calendar, planner, or smart phone to the appointment
  • Postpone your appointment only if it is an emergency, as missing your scheduled appointments will extend your treatment time
